Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services-North America (Vector) hosted the grand opening of its newest business office located in Huntsville Thursday.

Vector officials said the new office will enable the company to enhance the level of attention and service it provides to its U.S. Army customers in supporting soldiers at home and abroad.

“Vector has a long history of providing best-in-class maintenance, repair and overhaul support to defense operators including the U.S. Army and Navy, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Special Operations, the Canadian Department of Defense, the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense, Foreign Military Sales (FMS) operators and various international militaries,” said John MacDougall, senior vice-president, sales & marketing for Vector. “To ensure our ongoing ability to support to U.S. Army helicopter operators, we have established this location to further enhance our ability to be both responsive to increasing demands, and proactive to address new opportunities to support the Army’s unique helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul requirements.”

Vector, which provides helicopter maintenance and repair to military and domestic companies in Andalusia, recently opened an office near Ft. Rucker. The company employs approximately 100 people in Andalusia and is making plans to expand the local facility.

State House Speaker Seth Hammett, D-Andalusia, who attended the grand opening, said the Huntsville area is the “place to be” for businesses such as Vector.

“This is the center of aerospace world,” he said.
