Members of the Andalusia Junior Woman’s Club deemed Saturday’s Three Notch Market Arts and Crafts Festival such a success, they’ve already set the date for next year’s event.

“The turnout was fantastic,” chairperson Amy Dugger said. “We had more than 400 attend our first Market.”

More than 55 vendors participated in the event, held at the Powerplant Market Place. Preliminary figures show the group raised more than $3,500 that will be disbursed throughout the community’s schools and other charitable organizations.

“There was much anxiety with the first Three Notch Market,” Dugger said. “However, the support from the City of Andalusia, local businesses, and this community was overwhelming. The success of Saturday was a proven test that Andalusia and the surrounding area will support this venture called Three Notch Market!”

Next year’s Three Notch Market is set for May 7, 2011.
