The Boeing 737 that will take 115 veterans and their guardians to Washington, D.C., on Saturday for the Covington Regional Honor Flight will land at the South Alabama Regional Airport tonight, Fri., May 14, at about 8:30.

It will mark the first time a passenger flight of this size has landed or taken off from the local airport.

Area residents are invited to come to the airport at 7:30 a.m. Saturday to see the veterans off or at 7:30 p.m. to welcome the World War II and Korean War veterans home.

A Boeing 737 similar to this one will land at SARA tonight and take veterans to Washington on Saturday.
