CARL FREDERICK DYE

Carl Fredrick Dye, 80, of Andalusia, died Mon., May 17, 2010, at his residence.

He was a mechanical engineer. After graduating from Auburn University in 1956, he enjoyed a 37-year career as an engineer and was a manager with the Tennessee Valley Authority. He retired from TVA in 1993 but continued to pursue his life long interest in engineering excellence.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thurs., May 20, at the Antioch Congregational Church with Rev. Fred Funches officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

Survivors include his wife, Martha B. Dye of Andalusia; his daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Steven Knepp of Knoxville, Tenn., Janet and Robert Townsend of Hartsville, S.C., Suzanne and Harold McCaskey of Alpharetta, Ga., and Emily and David Drake of Spring Hill, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Dye of Newton, Ala.
