He recognized the junior varsity team, and gave a special thanks to assistant coach Frankie Wiggins.

The Lady Eagles wrapped up their season Thursday at the Class 1A state tournament in Montgomery, where they finished in fifth place.

Some of their other accomplishments include finishing in third place at the Andalusia softball tournament, claiming the PHS invitational championship and winning the regional championship in Gulf Shores.

This season, the Lady Eagles made their eighth consecutive trip to the state tournament.

“All that they did this year was very surprising,” Reeves said.
