Braves’ pitcher Matthew Nolen allowed no runs on five hits and struck out eight batters to help lead his team to 10-0 victory over the Red Sox Thursday night in 13-to-15-year-old Babe Ruth baseball action at Johnson Park.

The game remained scoreless until the third inning, where the Braves scored two runs on two hits.

J. Walker led off with a double and later scored on an RBI triple from Troy Nolen.

Nolen later scored on a passed ball.

The Braves added three runs in the fourth inning on two outs.

E. Jordan, the third batter up in the inning, hit a single and D. Conner followed with a double.

B. Throughtmorn hit a single to score Jordan and Conner.

Lead off hitter Walker, hit a triple to score Throughtmorn to allow the Braves to take a 5-0 lead.

M. Nolen scored in the fifth inning on an error to give his team a 6-0 lead.

The Braves sealed the win in the sixth inning scoring four runs on four hits.

Conner and Throughtmorn hit singles, and Walker and Williams both walked. Conner scored on Williams’ walk, and then Throughtmorn and Walker scored on a single from T. Nolen.

M. Nolen then hit a single to score Williams for the win.

Walker, T. Nolen and M. Nolen were 2-for-4; Conner and Throughtmorn were 2-for-3; Jordan was 1-for-3; and Williams was 1-for-4.
