A Georgiana man was life flighted from the scene of a one-vehicle accident just inside the Covington County line Thursday night.

Bobby Nixon, 47, was traveling on Alabama Hwy. 55 in the northern most part of the county at approximately 9:15 p.m. when his 1999 Chevrolet left the roadway and overturned, a spokesman for the Alabama State Troopers said Friday.

Reports indicate the vehicle rolled over, pinning Nixon inside.

He was entrapped for more than a half hour before emergency personnel were able to remove him.

Shortly after 10 p.m., life flight had responded to the accident and later transported Nixon to Sacred Heart hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
