Phillies score 16 runs in win

The Phillies beat the White Sox 16-11 Tuesday night in 13-to-15-year-old Babe Ruth baseball action at Johnson Park.

Hunter Greathouse got things started for the Phillies hitting a two-run double to score K. Powell and Sid Newby in the first inning.

Then, Greathouse and H. Weaver then scored on a single from T. Hammett. Hammett later scored on a single from H. Odom.

The White Sox got off to a good start as well in the first inning scoring four runs on four hits.

Keith Edgar scored on a single from Brett Hudson, Lucas Lumpkin scored on a single from Rhett Cook, and Hudson and Cook both scored on a single from Jordan McCleland.

The White Sox added two runs in the third inning, while the Phillies scored one.

In the fourth inning, the Phillies ran away with the game scoring six runs on five hits.

In the fourth, Newby, Weaver and Hammett had singles; and H. Greathouse and T. Greathouse had a double each.

The White Sox added four runs in the fifth inning and one run in the six in the loss.

In the fifth inning, the Phillies added one run on two hits; and in the seventh, they scored three runs on three hits.

H. Weaver was 5-for-5 with three singles, one double and one triple; Newby was 3-for-5 with two singles and one double; H. Greathouse was 3-for-5 with one single and two doubles; Hammett was 3-for-5 with three singles; Powell was 2-for-5 with two singles; H. Odom was 1-for-4 with one single; and T. Greathouse was 1-for-4 with one double.
