The Devil Rays narrowly beat the Red Sox 14-13 Tuesday night in 13-to-15-year-old Babe Ruth baseball action at Andalusia High School.

The Devil Rays scored three runs in the first inning, two runs in the second inning, three runs in the third inning, one run in the fourth inning, three runs in the fifth inning and two runs in the seventh in the win.

The Red Sox scored one run in the first inning, one run in the second inning, 10 runs in the third inning and one run in the seventh.

J. Rogers scored two runs; T. Wallace scored two runs; P. Maddox scored four runs; B. Smith scored two runs; and A. Leverington, M. Mitchell, D. McDuffey and J. Cross scored one run each for the Devil Rays.

Smith was 3-for-5 behind the plate.

M. Barnes, Chesser and Woodyard scored two runs each; and C. Veasey, C. Denny, Z. Hammett, H. Cheshire, C. Self and T. Veasey scored one run each for the Red Sox.

Self and T. Veasey were 2-for-4.
