DAVID DANIEL CORDELL

David Daniel Cordell, 78, of Andalusia, died Tues., June 1, 2010, in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., today, Sat., June 5, at Mill Creek Baptist Church with ministers Randy Kelley, Ray Armstrong, Larry Cummings, Ronald Davis and Walter Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with military honors and Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

The Rev. Cordell is survived by his wife, Martha Cordell of Andalusia; a son, Joseph Cordell and wife Michelle of Wildwood, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Kylie Cordell, Paige Cordell and Casey Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Kirby Adams, Joey Rodgers, Tim King, Jimmy Davis, Jeremy Knox, Lomax Godwin, Doug Mackoff and Andrew Stephens.

In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mill Creek Baptist Church building fund.

Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to services at the church.

SYBIL HICKS BLACKWELL

Sybil Hicks Blackwell, 92, died Mon., May 31, 2010, in a Rockledge, Fla., nursing facility.

A memorial service will be held on Tues., June 8, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in the Straughn Community with the Rev. Fred Funches officiating. She will be interred next to her pre-deceased husband, John Blackwell, in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

She will be remember as a most positive, unselfish and giving encouragement to her family and friends.

Surviving family include Terry Morrison, granddaughter; and three grandchildren, Javier, Guillermito and Veronica of Rockledge, Fla.; Donald Hicks, Ben Hicks, Joe Mack Hicks, Kent Barton and Benny McDaniell, nephews; Cynthia Rider Cross, niece; Ruth Schnering, aunt; and Elizabeth Hicks, sister-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in her honor to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund.
