Mangham, Cathey to unite

Mr. and Mrs. John Dorner Barelare of Vestavia Hills and Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Malvin Mangham of Chelsea are pleased to announce the engagement and the upcoming nuptials of their daughter, Kimberly Michelle Mangham, to Mark Daniel Cathey, son of Dr. and Mrs. Marty Lord Cathey of Paris, Tenn.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Marlon J. Bass and the late Marlon Bass of Andalusia and Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Mangham of Moody, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Bruno Barelare of Mountain Brook.

The bride-elect attended Union University in Jackson, Tenn., whereupon she graduated May 2010 summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in business administration and accounting.

She is a 2006 graduate of Vestavia Hills High School and a 2008 Poinsettia Debutante. She was a member of Chi Omega Social Sorority at Union University where she served as president in 2009; a member of Phi Beta Lambda, sise, and was the advertising manager for the university’s student newspaper, The Cardinal and Cream.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. John Cathey and Mrs. Martha Cathey from Shelbyville, Tenn., and the late Dr. and Mrs. Carl Stubblefield, also of Shelbyville.

He is a 2009 graduate of Union University in Jackson, Tenn., earning a bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Social Fraternity, a member of the Union University soccer team and an Ironman Triathlon competitor.

The wedding is planned for July 10, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. on the front lawn of the Carraway-Davie house in Birmingham, with the reception to follow at the Conference Center.

Upon returning from their honeymoon, the couple will reside in Clearwater, Fla.
