Welcome to our new Andalusia Elementary School’s news article. Each week the article will be written by students in the AES talented and gifted (TAG) program. The article will include important information, lots of fun facts, and things of interest concerning AES, its students and staff.

Will Clark, Branyon Clarke, and Hannah Bulger put the final touches on the ‘soar’ing plane in the Town Square at AES. The plane's banner will display tickets of children who were caught being good.

Come join us at Andalusia Elementary School’s PTO Open House Thursday night, Sept. 9, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Patty Taylor, Andalusia Elementary School’s principal, said, “Guests will find out what it means to be a Title I school. AES is a Title I school and it is very important for our parents and the community to understand how this affects our students’ education.”

Christy Worley is the PTO, Parent Teacher Organization, president for this school year. She said, “At the Open House, parents will get details about this year’s fundraiser and what the money will be used for. Worley said parents will also find out about activities planned for this year.

“This year we will have some new games at the fall festival and favorite activities like the Father/ Daughter dance and Mother/ Son Glo Bowl will be back.”

She is most proud of last year’s PTO project in which local businesses donated printer paper and printer cartridges to teachers. The AES Open House will provide lots of information about the school year. If parents want to talk about their child’s test scores or grades they can make a conference with their child’s teacher. Mrs. Taylor says everyone is invited.
