McKenzie scored four touchdowns on the ground Friday night to shut out Red Level 30-0.

The game started out well for Red Level, forcing McKenzie to a three-and-out.

After the punt, McKenzie drove the ball down the field 65 yard, and scored on a 15-yard run at the 7:39 mark in the first quarter. The two-point conversion was good for McKenzie to take an 8-0 lead.

Red Level took the ensuing kick off, and drove the ball 56 yards to the McKenzie one yard line, but did not score when a pass attempt from quarterback Preston Ryce to James Feagin fell short in the end zone.

McKenzie took over at the Red Level five-yard line, and then went on a 14-play, 95-yard drive to score on a four-yard run with 7:32 left in the second quarter. The two-point conversion was no good to put McKenzie’s lead at 14-0 at the half.

In the third quarter, McKenzie marched down the field on the opening kick off, and scored on a seven-yard run with 8:38 left in the third quarter. The two-point conversion was good.

McKenzie sealed the deal in the fourth quarter despite many fumbles on both teams.

They scored the final touchdown of the night on a 13-yard run with 4:39 left in the game. The two-point conversion was no good.

Red Level falls to 2-3 overall, and 2-1 in Class 2A, Region 2, and will host Samson next Friday night in region play.

Red Level’s Raheem Bullock led in rushing with 40 yards on 13 carries.

On defense, sophomore Caleb Varner netted eight tackles, five solo and had one forced fumble and fumble recovery.

McKenzie had 397 yards total offense compared to Red Level’s 83.
