GLADYS PRICE NEVIN

Gladys Price Nevin, 94, of Kinston, died Thurs., Oct. 14, 2010, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held today, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. The family will begin receiving friends at 10 a.m.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Annette Nevin and Richard Craig Shelby; son and daughter-in-law, Edward Haskell and Martha Woodfin Nevin; grandchildren, Richard Craig Shelby Jr., Claude Nevin Shelby and Edward Bradshaw Nevin; and great grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth Shelby and William Nevin Shelby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Claude Nevin.

Over the years, Mrs. Nevin served as a teacher for the Kinston and Opp school systems, and also MacArthur State Technical College. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Kinston.

Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Craig Shelby Jr., Claude Nevin Shelby, Edward Bradshaw Nevin, Marion Roy Price, Martin Anthony Sumblin and Hinton Lamar Farris.

The family requests that memorials be made to the First Methodist Church of Kinston. Bro. Alvin Sheffield will be officiating with Wyatt Funeral Home in Opp directing.
