Alabama State Troopers have yet to release the identity of those involved in Saturday’s fatal crash near Opp that left one dead and two others injured.

Reports from the AST indicate the accident occurred at noon, when a 2001 Ford Windstar van collided with a 2008 Ford Express van before overturning on U.S. Hwy. 84 about 10 miles west of Opp.

One of those ejected was killed and the other injured.

The driver of the Ford Express van was injured and taken to Mizell Memorial Hospital and later released.

Martha Earnhardt, public information officer with the Alabama Department of Public Safety, said troopers are withholding the identity of those involved until next of kin can be notified of the accident.
