Andalusia moves up 2 spots in latest ASWA poll

The Andalusia Bulldogs moved up two spots to No. 8 in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association’s poll that was released today.

The Bulldogs beat county rival Opp last week 31-21, and finished the regular season with a 9-1 record.

Last week, Andalusia claimed its first spot in the top 10 at the No. 10 spot.

In addition, Straughn moved up one spot to No. 7 after a 12-6 defeat over Class 3A’s Daleville last Thursday night. The Tigers also finished the regular season with a 9-1 record.

Andalusia and Straughn will host the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs this Friday night.

The Bulldogs will play Escambia County, and the Tigers will play UMS-Wright.
