Carter, Griffin unite

Elizabeth Chappell Carter and Kenneth Kevin Griffin were united in marriage at First United Methodist Church, Andalusia, on Oct. 9, 2010. The Rev. Timothy Ross Trent officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Dwight Fowler and Mr. Robert Quincey Carter Jr.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. David Lyon Gordon Sr. and the late Mrs. Rebecca Felder Gordon and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Quincey Carter Sr.

The groom is the son of the late Kenneth Lavelle Griffin and the late Mrs. Rebecca Whisonant Cooper, and the great grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell Johnson.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Jennifer Susanne Lee as her maid of honor and Lindsey Nelson Cross as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ginny Whitson Carter, Jennifer LaDawn Curry, Kelley Lynn Curry, Amy Johnson Goodson, Amanda Marler Jernigan, Lauren Pollock Mott, Andrea Ellisor Peters, Anna Curry Reeves, Judy Jones Robertson, Kristen Mayberry Stinson and Beth Huggins Whitehurst.

The groom was attended by his son, Kenneth Taylor Griffin, as best man. Groomsmen were Scott Latrell Beck, Bryant Monroe Carter, David Gordon Carter, Garrett Milton Cross, Mackenzie Terrall Curry, Joseph Lavelle Griffin, Jimmy Dwight Fowler, Clint Ladon Hughes, Harry Michael Jackson Jr., Shaun Wade Jackson, Thomas Steven Jackson and Thomas Heath Little.

The flower girls were Emma Elizabeth Thomas and Madelyn Olivia Thomas. The ceremony featured special music by: soloist, Dr. Cathleen Owens Irwin; organist, Mr. John Austin Beasley; pianist, Mrs. Louisa Belcer Mann; and trumpeter, Mr. Joseph Michael Gatlin.

A reception followed at the Andalusia Country Club. After a honeymoon to the Sandals Grande Antiqua Resort, the couple will reside in Andalusia.
