Andalusia’s 9-and-under All-Stars girls soccer team beat Troy 2-1 at the ARPA District VI tournament Saturday afternoon at the Andalusia Sports Complex to earn a state tournament berth.

The Lady Bulldogs will advance to the state tournament in Dothan from Nov. 20-21.

In Andalusia’s match against Troy, Mary Katherine Salter scored the only goals for the Lady Bulldogs in the win.

At the start of the day, Andalusia defeated Dothan 6-3 in a shootout on penalty kicks.

The game was tied 2-2 leading into the shootout, where the Lady Bulldogs scored four goals compared to Dothan’s one.

Dothan ended up as the runner up at the district tournament when it defeated Troy 3-1 in the elimination game.

In boys 11-and-under action, Andalusia fell to Eufaula 5-0.
