Thanks for warm campaign welcome

To the people of Covington County, Ala.:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every citizen of Covington County for voting for and electing Walt Merrell our district attorney.
As Mary and I traveled on the campaign trail in the rural areas as well as the cities and towns in this great county we live in, it brought back so many memories when I worked as chief investigators, trial coordinator for 17 years in the district attorney’s office.
Seeing so many of my friends that I hadn’t seen in a very long time, shaking hands and hugging one another, I had a knowing in my heart that after all this time has passed we still loved one another as much as we ever did.
I thank each and everyone for giving us a warm and loving welcome in your homes and/or on the streets and wherever the occasion might have been that we met.
I know in my heart you will never regret casting your vote for Walt and when he takes office, you will see a change in the law enforcement field.
I thank God for using our law enforcement officers to serve and protect us from violent criminals and other crimes.
Our law enforcement needs our support and our prayers on a daily basis. On Nov. 2, 2010, the people spoke out loud by casting their vote in every office that will become available in January.
As the people take office in January, we need to begin praying now that God will be allowed to be in control of every office.
We need to support each elected official and pray for them every day.
In closing, I would like to thank every person that worked with the Walt Merrell campaign for district attorney.
Everyone worked hard and all the hard work paid off Nov. 2, 2010.

P.S. Every person I shook hands with during this campaign, I would always tell them I love you, we are all God’s children, and are all brothers and sisters in Christ.
I meant every word from the heart. May God Bless.
Your friend forever more,
Porter Harris,
Andalusia
