Gov. Bob Riley is appointing Sharon Dye and Jack Hall to fill two vacancies on the Red Level Town Council.

Mayor Mike Purnell said Friday Riley is expected to make his official announcement by Dec. 15, but both residents have accepted the positions.

Dye, the former superintendent for the Covington County Schools System, and Hall, Red Level band director, will fill the vacancies left by the resignations of Larry Turman and Jo Ellen Grissett.

Purnell said the town attempted to fill the vacancies during the last election cycle, but no one showed any interest in the positions.
