Still looking for a way to get into that true Christmas spirit?

If so, take time to visit Westview Baptist Church’s “Ride through Bethlehem” event in Opp.

Tonight will conclude the church’s holiday performance, where from the comfort of one’s car or church bus, the drive back to Bethlehem time allows participants to relive the first Christmas.

Pastor Scott Ferguson said the show features live animals of the time, soldiers, kings, angels, towns people and follows Jesus’ life from his birth to the crucifixion.

Gates will open at 6 p. m., with the production beginning at 6:30 p.m.

There was no room at the Inn for Mary and Joseph.

Opp’s Westview Baptist Church is located on North Main Street, past Mizell Memorial Hospital. There is no charge for admission.

Other weekend events include Babbie Baptist Church’s “Glory in the Highest” tonight at 6:30 p.m. and tomorrow at 6 p.m., as well as Opp’s Sweetwater Baptist Church’s Christmas play “A Mr. Dickens Christmas” tonight and Sunday at 6 p.m.

Those missing the Opp nativity performance will have one more opportunity next weekend when Harmony Baptist Church hosts a live nativity scene on Fri., Dec. 17, through Sun., Dec. 19, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
