A space heater is being blamed for a Monday house fire on Lindsey Bridge Road. Andalusia Fire Department units responded to the manufactured home occupied by Jessica Padgett shortly before 11 a.m. and arrived to find the home filled with smoke. Firefighters battled smoke for nearly 30 minutes before determining a small space heater had apparently caught a mattress on fire and spread the blaze to the bedroom closet.
