It was a very special day for Andalusia seniors on Thurs., Dec. 9, when the Adult Activity Center staff and volunteers delivered Christmas bags.

Aside from the healthy dose of holiday cheer, the bags contained canned soups, crackers, Spam, fruit juices, crackers, candies, fruit, throws, shawls, gloves, hats, scarves, socks, shirts, sweaters, pillows, toiletry items, light bulbs and other special items.

These bags went to 80 very deserving people, and everyone that received a bag said they were very thankful and appreciative.

“Some were even brought to tears as they felt the love and concern that had gone in to the preparation of their gift,” said Dianne Jones, AAC director.

Jones said she and her staff would like to thank everyone in the community from volunteers to those who donated that took an interest in this project and “followed their heart to help them make this Christmas extra special.”
