Those wishing to make a donation to the Salvation Army kettles don’t need to brave the cold and the crowds.

Just drop it in the mail, local organizer Sonny James said.

“The money that is raised here goes to provide for the people here,” James said. “I realize that some people may would like to donate to a wonderful organization this year, and the Salvation Army is just the thing. And while we may not have a local service center in Covington County, people can access this money by calling Enterprise.”

James said local collections are looking to be the best ever collected in the county.

“If we keep going the way we are, it will be the best year ever,” he said.

James asked that checks be made payable to the Salvation Army for the Red Kettle campaign of Covington County and mailed c/o James and James Attorneys, P.O. Box 1061, Andalusia, AL 36420.

Donations are tax-deductible.
