There will be three chances this month for residents to give the ultimate gift this holiday season – the gift of life.

The American Red Cross will hold blood drives on:

• Dec. 22 at Saitel from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.;

• Dec. 23 at Covington Mall from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.; and

• Dec. 28 at Wal-Mart from 1:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

“Every two seconds someone needs blood and each donation can save up to three lives,” said the Red Cross’s Megan Jefferson. “Additionally, the lack of blood may adversely affect three plus lives, so please give if you’re able.”
