MARGARET PRESTWOOD

Margaret Prestwood, 96, of Andalusia, passed away Tues., Dec. 21, 2010.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Keahey Funeral Home.

MARY ROBBINS BURNSIDE

Mary Robbins Burnside, 89, a resident of Savannah Terrace in Andalusia, formerly of Dozier, passed away on Tues., Dec. 21, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 23, at the Dozier Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Hogwood and the Rev. W.O. Sanders officiating, and interment will follow in Dozier Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Burnside; a daughter, Elizabeth Johnston Kessel; and her parents, James Feagin and Eula Rawls Robbins.

Survivors include two children, Rosemary (John Allen) Gantt of Andalusia and Melissa Johnston Stephens of Lisle, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Kim Kessel Bates and Mike (Miriam) Kessel of Pensacola, Fla., Dr. Lanie (Dr. Frank van de Loo) Stephens of Yarralumla, Australia, Leigh (David) Tarpley of Andalusia, Beth (Tim) Davison of Madison, Ala., Taz (Molly) Stephens of Naperville, Ill., and Dr. Joni Gantt of Birmingham; 10 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Lowell William (Annette) Kessel of Pensacola, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and her special friends at Savannah Terrace.

Active pallbearers will be John Allen Gantt, Lowell William Kessel, Mike Kessel, Taz Stephens, David Tarpley and Tim Davidson.

Visitation will be tonight at Turner Funeral Home in Luverne from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Dozier Baptist Church building fund, Dozier, AL 36028.

WALLACE CASTLEBERRY

Wallace Castleberry, 74, of Andalusia, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sun., Dec. 19, 2010.

Funeral services were held Tues., Dec. 21, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel and interment followed at River Falls Cemetery.

He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Linda Castleberry; daughters, Melissa Castleberry Steele, Barbara (Tom) Anderson, Debbie Castleberry and Susan Castleberry; sons, Jeff (Teresa) Castleberry and Chris Castleberry; brothers, J.T. and Louis Castleberry, Doug and Francis Castleberry and Jerry Wayne and Jane Castleberry; sisters-in-law, Claude Fay Castleberry, Peggy Castleberry and Betty Jo and Rick Curtis; and four grandchildren, Penny, Laken, Tyler and Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, G.C. and Alene (King) Castleberry, and three brothers, Hillary Castleberry, Thomas Castleberry and Ray Castleberry.

CHRIS KELLEY

Chris Kelley, 30, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., Dec. 19, 2010, in a Dothan hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., today, Wed., Dec. 22, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Canant officiating and interment following at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Tucker Kelley; mother and stepfather, Betty and Charles Woodall of Enterprise; sons, Jeremy Tucker and Taylor Kelley, both of Andalusia; sister, Charley Sue Woodall of Enterprise; stepsisters, Rachel Woodall and Rebecca Martin, both of Pinson, and Holly Stubblefield of Birmingham; sister-in-laws, Brandy Sutton and Dena and Steve Padgett; maternal grandmother, Geraldine Kelley, all of Andalusia; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Obie Reid Kelley, and father-in-law, Frankie Ray Tucker.

Pallbearers will be Mark Patterson, David Everage, Kyle Harris, Chris Harris, Casey Colvin and Josh Sutton.

NINA WEST TAYLOR

Nina West Taylor, 98, of Andalusia, died Fri., Dec. 17, 2010, in hospice at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Mrs. Taylor was born near Opp and moved to George County, Miss., in her teens and graduated from Agricola High School. In 1936, she married Waco Taylor and moved to Andalusia.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., today, Wed., Dec. 22, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Trent officiating and burial following in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Waco; three sisters and seven brothers.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Barbara and Douglas Landwehr of Highlands, N.C., and Sandy Palmer of Andalusia; her grandchildren, Kathy Landwehr and her husband Thomas Heintjes and son Daniel of Atlanta, Gretchen Landwehr and husband Steven Szuraz and daughters, Frances and Louisa of Arlington, Mass., and Seannon Baker of Austin, Texas.

Mrs. Taylor will be remembered for her volunteerism and her love for gardening and flower arranging, having won many awards and blue ribbons for her arrangements. She was always eager to share vegetables, flowers and food. She was a volunteer at the Andalusia Hospital for 30 years and active in Fleur De Lis Garden Club and the Andalusia Beautification Committee. She and her husband Waco spearheaded and helped in the planning of many public areas in Andalusia, including the LBW nature trail and the Church Street medians.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be James Shaw, Steve Shaw, Marion Person, Robert Persons, Mike West and Seannon Baker.

WANDA STUDSTILL

Wanda Studstill, 67, of Andalusia, died Sun., Dec. 19, 2010, in a Montgomery Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thurs., Dec. 23, from the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Trent officiating and burial following in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

Survivors include her husband, Charles L. Studstill Sr. of Andalusia; her sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Cindy Studstill of Andalusia; and John and Kim Studstill of Gulfport, Miss.; her daughters and sons-in-law, Edy and Jerry Moore of Andalusia and Julie Studstill Cook of Titus; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John D. and Ellie Blue of Andalusia and Charles and Maryanne Cope of Andalusia.

Orian T. McGlaun, 94, of the Stanley community, died Sat., Dec. 18, 2010, at his daughter’s residence.

Funeral services were held Mon., Dec. 20, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery and the Rev. Fred Kelley officiating and special music by Michelle Chesser.

Survivors include his daughter, Gwin M. Prestwood of the Pleasant Home community; his granddaughters, Anita (Jeff) Barnes of Wetumpka, Leigh (Bryan) Newby and Kerri (Brian) Kelley, all of Andalusia; his great-grandchildren, Sid Newby, John Newby, Drew Barnes, Anna Kathryn Barnes, Vance Kelley, Presley Kelley and Kate Kelley; one brother, Aubrey McGlaun of Andalusia; and a sister-in-law, Grace Cumbie of Milton, Fla.

Jacob Wayne Little, 72, of Andalusia, died Sun., Dec. 19, 2010, at his residence.
