HARRIET ELLEN MEEKS BLAIR

Harriet Ellen Meeks Blair, 74, of Andalusia, died Sun., Dec. 26, 2010, in the Andalusia Manor nursing home.

Born in Tifton, Ga., on April 4, 1936, she was reared in the Avon Park, Fla., area. She moved to Opp when she married Charles “Ed” Blair in 1951. After moving to Cantonment, Fla., she worked for more than 30 years at Monsanto before retiring in 1992.

Graveside services were held Tues., Dec. 28, at the Salem Church Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Nettie Pitts Meeks; her husband, Ed; brothers, Billy, Oren and H. B. Meeks; sisters, Etta, Ophie, Eva Mae and Rilla.

She is survived by sisters-in-law, Thelma Glisson and Elma Grissett, and many nieces and nephews.

Harriet enjoyed cooking, growing flowers and her beloved pets, Ginger and Scruffy.

She will be missed.

Pallbearers were Carl Glisson, Tim Glisson, Gerald Edgar, William Blair, Rusty Blair and James Marion Blair.
