Red Level bounced back Tuesday after a bitter loss to Straughn on Monday night, to beat Goshen 74-31 at its annual Christmas Invitational tournament.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 8-6 on the season and will play Flomaton at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

“Fundamentally, we played better,” RLS coach Allen Catrett said about the game on Tuesday. “We handled the pressure. We followed the game plan the way it was supposed to be followed.”

Red Level led 18-8 after the first period and outscored Goshen 23-13 in the second period to take a 41-21 lead at half time.

“We did a better job of executing,” Catrett said. “We still have some things we’re going to work on (today).

“Like I said (Monday night), we need to rely on our defense,” he said. “On defense, you don’t have off nights. On offense, you do have off nights. We shot a lot better because we had easier looks (Tuesday).”

O.J. McGee led the Tigers with 14 points, and K.J. Lawrence scored 12 points. Troy Nolen and James Feagin scored 10 points each for Red Level. Preston Ryce contributed with nine points.
