Pleasant Home Lady Eagles coach Kelley Garner said she knows that the Alabama-Florida Shoot Out this week will provide “good preparation” for area play in January.

There are two teams from Alabama (Pleasant Home and Florala), and two teams from Florida (Baker and Laurel Hill) participating in the two-day contest. The shoot out is today, Dec. 30, and on Sat., Jan. 1, 2011.

The Lady Eagles will start against Laurel Hill on Thursday night at 6 p.m., and will switch to play Baker on Saturday night at the same time.

“We’re looking forward to hosting the tournament,” Garner said. “It has good competition and it will help get us prepared for area play in January.”

Admission to the shoot out is $5 per person per day, and there will be a lot of home made soups, chilis in the concession stand, Garner said.

“These next two games will give us a jump start to the second half of the season,” Garner said.
