Andalusia’s own contemporary Christian band, The Chase, recently released its first album.

The album, “Song to a King,” is the group’s first official work for Andalusia residents and brothers, Chase and Jared Hawsey, and friend Jonathan Brooks.

The album includes eight tracks.

“We are just three guys who have been friends for a long time,” Chase Hawsey said.

“We met in church after my brother and I moved to Andalusia a while back.”

Hawsey said the group actually began by leading worship together at church and their friendship grew.

Chase plays guitar and is the lead vocalist, Jared plays bass and sings background, and Jonathan is the band’s drummer and programmer.

“We have been touring for about two years unofficially,” Hawsey said. “We have been all over the southeast from Alabama to Florida to South Carolina to Tennessee.

“Our mission goes beyond just CD sales and getting famous,” he said.. “Of course, that is always great, but we want our music to connect with people on a personal level.”

The Chase has slowly gained recognition in local churches by playing anywhere and everywhere they could, Hawsey said.

The band ties together unique, acoustic rock with captivating worship, Hawsey said. Described as having a sound that demands attention and a talent far beyond their years, The Chase brings a new and exciting energy to worship, Hawsey said.

The band gets its inspiration from Mercy Me, Hillsong, Desperation Band, Chris Tomlin, the David Crowder Band, Delirious and the Newsboys.

The group has a desire to do something bigger than themselves, and to make it to the big time.

“We can see ourselves making it to the big time, playing nine months out of the year, selling 2 million CDs,” he said.

“We know with hard work comes great opportunities. We will continue to write and play, and God will open the doors that need to be opened.”

The group’s CD, which is produced by Tate Music Group, can be purchased at the iTunes store, Amazon.com or directly at tatemusicgroup.com.
