An Andalusia man pleaded guilty Monday to the armed robbery of a Dothan convenience store nearly eight years ago.

Houston County’s Assistant District Attorney David Holmes said Jessie Howard Brooks III, 26, pleaded guilty to felony first-degree robbery and felony second-degree burglary.

Records indicated Dothan police arrested Brooks on July 10, 2003, for a robbery that happened on the same day. Brooks also pleaded guilty to a burglary that happened on July 3, 2003, of the Super C Food store.

Sentencing is set for March 23.

Holmes said the case was nearly eight years old because Brooks was serving a 94-month federal prison sentence for two felony charges, including a firearm-related drug charge, which he pleaded guilty to in 2003.
