The bulldogs responsible for the attack on an Opp woman Sunday will be put down, officials said Thursday.

Thirty-seven-year-old Megan Schmitt was attacked by two white English bulldogs owned by Troy Joshua Gay after they escaped from their pens, and she and a family member attempted to put the dogs back into the pen.

Schmitt underwent surgery and was released from the hospital on Tuesday.

The dogs will be put down and they will be sent to off for testing.
