HAZEL SMITH JONES

Hazel Smith Jones, 84, went home to be with our Lord on Tues., Feb. 1, 2011.

She was the daughter of the late Clayton Smith and Gertrude Johnson Smith.

Mrs. Jones was a member of Taylor Road Baptist Church. She was the loving wife of Charles Alvis Jones for 62 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Libby Poole and husband Mark of Montgomery and Becky Early of Nashville, N.C.; one sister, Opal Barton and husband Dalton of Andalusia; brother-in-law, James Jones and wife Janelle; five grandchildren, Bill Davidson and wife Kellie of Daphne, Matthew Davidson and wife Maureen of Atlanta, Katie Laymon and husband Kevin of Wilmington, N.C., Joseph Early of Asheville, N.C., and Kenton Poole of Montgomery; seven great-grandchildren, William, Kara, twins Hannah and Emily, and triplets Samantha, Maci and Bella; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be today, Sat., Feb. 5, at 3 p.m. at White Chapel – Greenwood Funeral Home with visitation at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Children’s Center of Montgomery, designated for the Over 21 Program, 310 North Madison Terrace, Montgomery AL 36107, Attention: Cynthia McCaghren.
