Students tested their new skills at a luncheon.

Thirty-one students participated in a manners workshop presened by Andalusia Middle School’s Ambassadors last weekend.

The 16 ambassadors taught a number of classes. Sarah Atkins and Caitlyn Wiley taught young ladies how to enter and exit a car gracefully. Brayden Burkhardt and Ashton Elmore, while talking with the young men, emphasized the importance of a firm handshake. Destini Benson and Cal McCalman covered sportsmanship. Cell phone manners were demonstrated by Taran Carrasco and James Albritton. General rules of courtesy were explained by Hannah Miller and Clay Stephens, and proper introductions were displayed by Caroline Andrews and Jackson Thompson. While Emily Theus and Colton Elmore taught table manners, Jodie Watson and Jonathan Bryant provided hands-on learning in the form of placements with correct table settings.

Following the workshop, students put their new skills to the test while enjoying a three-course luncheon catered by Jeff and Laquita Grimes.

Approximately 100 parents, grandparents and siblings attended the awards ceremony in the AES library.

Linda Kyle coordinated the workshop.
