JACOB ‘JAKE’ EUGENE MERRILL

Jacob, “Jake” Eugene Merrill, 85, of Andalusia, died Mon., Feb. 14, 2011, in a Tuscaloosa nursing home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., today, Fri., Feb. 18, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Fred Karthaus, Dr. Harrell Cushing and the Rev. John Foster officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Clyde Merrill of Andalusia; his son and daughter-in-law, John Jacob and Rhonda Merrill of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; his daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Martha Susan and Dr. Robert David Griffith of Tuscaloosa and Fran and Dwight Bostick; eight grandchildren; a brother, James Warren Merrill of Andalusia; and sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Guy B. Wilder of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be John Hill, Dr. Morgan Moore, Dwight Bostick, Dr. Robert Griffith, Benny Barrow and Harry Hinson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Andalusia.

The Rev. Lerlie Seales, 81, of Red Level, passed away Tues., Feb. 15, 2011, in the Opp nursing home.

The Rev. Seales was an ordained pastor in Covington County for more than 50 years.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., today, Fri., Feb. 18, at South Church of God in Red Level with the Rev. Buford Smith, the Rev. Anna Weaver and the Rev. Jason Justus officiating. Special music by Elbert, Jewel and Rusty Craig and Michael and Lynn Bush. Burial will follow in the South Church of God cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Seales is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nelda and Randy Walden of Red Level and Linda and James Salter of Evergreen; sisters, Daisy Weber of Panama City, Fla., and Rachel Jones of Columbus, Ga.; five grandchildren, Angela and Eddie Ray Huckaba, Deedra and Adam Clark, April and Jerry Fischer, Stephanie and Kenny Bledsole and Kay and Tim Salter; and six great-grandchildren, Neal Ramsey, Kenny Williams, Aaron Huckaba, James Baker, Travis Ragan, Katelin Salter, Courtland Salter, Tanner Bledsole, Chelsea Smith and Tyler Fischer.

David William Tadlock, 58, of Land O’ Lakes, Fla., died Tues., Feb. 15, 2011, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Sat., Feb. 19, at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Clyde Northrop officiating and Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa K. Tadlock of Land O’ Lakes, Fla.; son, Tyler Joseph Tadlock of Land O’ Lakes; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill (Romaine) Tadlock of Andalusia; and a sister, Tamela Viveiros of Pensacola, Fla.

Corrine Worley, 88, formerly of Red Level, passed away Tues., Feb. 15, 2011, in Jacksonville, Fla.

A resident of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., she was the daughter of Jesse James and Nancy Colvin.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sat., Feb. 19, at Keahey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Vera Cruz Cemetery near Red Level, with Keahey Funeral home directing.

Survivors include one daughter, Lynn Olsen of Jacksonville Fla.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Robin Worley of Lake Placid, Fla., Ronnie and Mary Worley of Pollock, La., and Greg and Peggy Worley of Pensacola, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Judy Carnley Stanley, 54, of Andalusia, passed away Tues., Feb. 15, 2011, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sat., Feb. 19, 2011, at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with Minister Frank Kyser officiating.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Foreman’s.

Mrs. Stanley is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Angie (Michael) Kyles of Andalusia; a son and daughter-in-law, Eric (Alyshia) Carnley of Andalusia; four grandchildren, Jared Ammons, Kylie Kyles, Nick Givens and Annabelle Carnley; and stepchildren, Eddie Carnley Jr. of Arizona and Maria Carnley of Cape Canaveral, Fla.

Pallbearers will be James Ammons, Chip Long, John Carnley, Chris Coursey, Paul Blackwell and Cleon Kyles.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Opal Williamson, and a brother, Doug Williamson.

Herbert F. Couey, 64, of Opp, passed away Thurs., Feb. 17, 2011, in the Opp hospital.

Robert E. “Buddy” Harris, 64, of Andalusia, passed away unexpectedly in a Dothan hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., today, Fri., Feb. 18, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Parker and the Rev. Dennis Knowles officiating and burial following in Stone Lake Gardens with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Harris has worked in the pest control business for many years in Covington County and the surrounding counties. And was co-owner of Aggressive Pest Control. He was a member of East Highland Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Harris; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Tawana Harris; brother and sister-in-law, Wilson Joe and Brenda Keller; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Gary Owens; and two grandchildren, Chris (Tiffany) Harris and Kyle Harris, all of Andalusia.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Burlison, Gary Burlison, Lance Mills, Jeremy Tucker, Jamey Greene and Michael Garrett.
