DARRELL JEFFCOAT

Mr. Darrell Jeffcoat, age 48 of Elba, formerly of Andalusia, passed away Mon., Feb. 28, 2011, in a Dothan hospital.

Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced later by Keahey Funeral Home.

JIMMY BROGDEN

Mr. Jimmy Brogden, 59, of Andalusia passed away Sun., Feb. 27, 2011, in a Dothan hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wed., March 2, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Glenn Ward will officiate.

Special music will be provided by Jeffrey Mitchell.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one-hour prior to services.

Burial will follow in Stone Lake Gardens with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Jennie Brogden of Andalusia; two sons and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Casey Brogden of Andalusia and Patrick Thomas of Pensacola, Fla.; daughters and son-in-law, Angie Queen of Andalusia and Brittany and Luke Williams of Andalusia; a brother and sister-in-law, Carey and Sue Brogden of Greenville; a sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Ted Ferrell of Ft. Deposit; and three grandchildren, Tanner James Brogden, Gavin Trent Brogden and Landrie Blair Kelley.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gerald Queen.

Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Palmer, Steve Palmer, Dale Pike, Robby Weaver, David Mitchell Jr., Levon Mitchell, Luke Williams, and Carey Brogden.

H.M. “Pete” Davis

Mr. H. M. “Pete” Davis, age 87, of Andalusia died Mon., Feb. 28, 2011, in a Bay Minette hospital.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thurs., March 3, at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Mary Ann Gantt officiating and Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow with full military honors by the Navy Honor Guard.

Mr. Davis is survived by a niece Lynn Krudop of Andalusia, brother-in-laws, Wayne (Mary) Simmons of Laurel Hill, Fla., Emmitt (Virginia) Simmons of Enterprise, and Donald (Katherine) Simmons of Richardson, Texas.

Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Foreman’s.

VIRGINIA MAE MORGAN MCKAY

Virginia Mae Morgan McKay, 73, of Opp, passed away Feb. 23, 2011, at Mizell Memorial Hospital.

She worked in the sewing and textile industry and was a homemaker.

Visitation was held Thurs., Feb. 24, at Wyatt Funeral Home in Opp. The funeral was on Fri., Feb. 25, at 11 a.m., at Opp Church of Christ with Minister Mark Littleton officiating. Interment followed in Beulah Cemetery with Wyatt Funeral Home directing.

For special music, Jay Mikel led the congregation in singing a selection of hymns.

Roger Dill and Raymond Elliot offered prayers and performed the graveside service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Huey and Bonnie Morgan of Elba, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dewey and Emma McKay of Opp.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Lavon McKay of Opp; daughters, Glenda Bradford of Sylacauga, Linda Clarkson of Opp and Joan Stewart of Gantt; sisters, Bonnie Inez Rogers, Lillian Morgan, Ruby Schofield and Elaine Brown, all of Opp; brothers, Edward Morgan of Pensacola, Fla., Wayne Morgan of Opelika and Larry Morgan of Cullman; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Will Hawkins, Gary Hall, Carl Hollinghead, and her grandsons, Jonathan Stewart, Andrew Clarkson and John Bradford.
