Saints beat Pensacola St.

The Saints scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning and five runs in the seventh to walk away with a 12-9 victory over Pensacola State College Tuesday afternoon.

Winning pitcher Spencer Youmans allowed two hits and struck out one batter in two innings of work.

Josh Thompson was 3-for-4 with three runs; P.J. Leto was 1-for-2 with one run; Austin Mason was 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI; Chad Dickinson was 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs; Aaron Haag was 1-for-5 with two runs and four RBIs; Gavin Free was 3-for-4 with two RBIs; and Zack Sasser was 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Chris Barrentine earned the save for the Saints, who improved to 5-7 on the season.

Pensacola State scored one run in the first inning, three runs in the fourth, four runs in the sixth and one run in the ninth in the loss.

The Saints had 16 hits compared to Pensacola State’s 12.
