I would like to write about the importance of reading together as a family.

I have taken my children to the library since they were babies – Tony is now 13 and Gracie Jo is 8, and we still love the library.

I have always read books to my children. It has been some of the most special times spent together – a quiet, loving time together.

Now that my son is 13, he does not want me to read to him anymore, because he says I read too slow. He would rather read to himself. He has been given the love of reading.  My husband says,” readers are leaders,” and I agree. So with that said, parents out there – start reading, and pass it on to your children.
