SHS boys, girls ranked in poll

Straughn’s baseball team has taken the No. 4 spot in the Alabama Sports Writer’s Association poll that was released today.

The Tigers improved to 11-3 after defeating Dothan and Dale County Tuesday at the Southeast Invitational Tournament in Dothan.

In Class 4A, Straughn sits below Bibb County at No. 1, UMS-Wright at No. 2 and Jacksonville at No. 3.

In varsity softball, Straughn’s Lady Tigers sit at No. 6 in the Class 4A poll.

The Lady Tigers beat rival Andalusia 7-2 Tuesday, and Enterprise 6-4 on Monday night. Additionally, they won the City of Andalusia’s annual fast pitch softball tournament last weekend.

Straughn’s girls are 8-4 on the season.
