Andalusia Regional Hospital is looking for local art to display in the emergency services department.

In an effort to find art to feature on its walls, ARH is sponsoring an art contest for Covington County high school students, ages 14 to 19.

The theme is “Life in Covington County.”

ARH will accept drawings and paintings in a variety of mediums, but they must be suitable for framing behind glass.

ARH will provide frames and framing services for the exhibit.

The artwork should be limited in size to no larger than 11 x 24 inches.

Art work submitted will be judged by board members of the Lower Alabama Arts Coalition, honorary LAAC board member Jo Kelley, and by New York’s Pratt Institute of Art graduate and Community College instructor, Marilyn Moore.

Ten pieces will be chosen for the display. The winning entry will receive a $75 award; the second-place entry, $50; and the third-place entry, $25.

Judges will consider the quality of the art and its suitability.

The work will be exhibited for a year.

The deadline for entry is May 18. Art should be delivered to the hospital and an entry form completed.
