A Birmingham man is dead following a Sunday crash on Ala. Hwy. 55 north of Red Level.

Alabama State Troopers are reporting Fred Karl Sheffield, 58, was fatally injured in a two-car accident that occurred at 1:45 p.m.

The driver of the second vehicle, 24-year-old Jessica Brook Watson of Ft. Walton Beach, was injured and transported to Andalusia Regional Hospital for treatment.

No details surrounding the accident were available, as it remains under investigation, a AST spokesman said Monday.
