County EMA director Susan Harris said Tuesday the total number of structures reported damaged by Sunday’s storm system has increased.

Harris said state EMA officials have been notified that 50 homes suffered minor damage, seven homes had major damage, that four barns were destroyed and 55 vehicles were reportedly damaged by hail and straightline winds.

Major areas affected included Harrell Road, Anderson Estates Lane, Jackson Town Road, Old School Road, Indian Creek Road and along U.S. Hwy. 331 – all areas in the Onycha Community.

Harris said other areas throughout the county also reported minor damages.

The total has been forwarded to state EMA in the hopes FEMA assistance becomes available in the future, Harris said.
