Gather up the family and head over to the Covington Arena Friday and Saturday night for the annual Pilot Club of Andalusia South Alabama Charity horse show.

Organizer Benny Jo Sasser said there will be horses from six states in the show.

“We are so excited at the fun we are going to have,” she said. “Friday and Saturday nights promise to bring some of the best walking and racking horses around.”

There are 64 classes for the two evening performances, including model, racking open, open walking specialty, stick horse and halter yearling.

Those interested in entering the show can still do so.

Sasser said the proceeds will go to benefit the local organizations the Pilots support, including Project LifeSaver, Brain Minders, Sav-A-Life, Crossover Ministries, Opportunity House, Meredith’s Miracles, Covington County American Red Cross and Camp ASCCA.

These funds help with various community and civic projects.

“We are certainly thankful for the support from our city and county offices,” Sasser said.

Gates open at 4 p.m. both nights and the shows start at 5:30 p.m.

Admission is $5. Concessions and baked goods will also be available.

Sasser said anyone interested in purchasing advanced tickets may call her at 222-9623.
