Mark you calendars for the annual River Falls Community Center play.

The play, “Pete Skinner’s Funeral, Dead or Alive,” will be held April 30 at 6 p.m. with repass following.

“It is a remake of a play our parents used to do about 50 years ago,” said organizer Mattie Freeney. “The old teachers and members of the community were involved.”

Freeney said the purpose of the play is two-fold.

“It has dual purpose to raise money for the center and to bring some quality of life to the community,” she said. “Right now, we are trying to raise money for siding for the building.”

Last year’s money was used to install heating and cooling in the building, general cleaning and more projects.

“We now have a banquet room,” she said. “We need to work on finishing the building windows and siding.”

Freeney said last year’s play, “Church Supper” drew an estimated 108 attendees

Tickets are $5 and will include a spaghetti dinner and may be purchased from any member of the cast, including Gola Church, Charletta Davis, Bobby Harris, Joseph Robinson, Freeney and Corrine Ross.
