Agents target meth lab

Two people were arrested on numerous drug charges and held on a collective bond of a half-million dollars after investigators found a meth lab.

The Covington County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call at the Harmony Church Road residence Thursday and gained information that led the Covington County Drug Task Force to get a search warrant. They found a meth lab at the residence.

Presley Stewart, 21, was charged with manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana in the second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia and held on a $260,500 bond.

Michael Shane Hammett, 22, was charged with for manufacturing in the second degree, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana in the second degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear and held on a $260,500 bond.
