Meredith’s Miracles’ annual fish fry fundraiser raised more than $5,000 Friday.

Organizer June Simpson said the local non-profit, which provides assistance to families seeking subspecialty medical care with travel costs, sold 459 dinner tickets.

“Turnout was amazing,” Simpson said. “We can’t say thank you enough to the people who came out and supported us. I’m proud to say we raised $5,300.”

Simpson said a special “thank you” also goes out to those who donated baked goods for the event. That portion of the event raised $500.
