Adopt an angel this Christmas

There are just a few days left before the deadline to drop off packages for the less fortunate children in our community, and yet there are 115 little angels yet to be adopted.

Andalusia’s Community Christmas organization took on the responsibility of providing Christmas for more than 500 children of needy families this year. The organization seeks the public’s help in “adopting” angels, and raises funds with which it purchases gifts for those not adopted and covers its operating costs.

Local counselors say the organization plays a very big role in raising the morale of recipients.

“Children can’t help that their parents may not be able to afford things. They still want things. It brings a little hope to the children,” one said.

Big it brings a bigger blessing to those who are able to give, whether it is by using the experience as an object lesson for young children on the importance of helping others; the fun of buying gifts for children for those whose own children are grown; the joy of knowing that somewhere, a child has hope because we helped.

Adopt an angel today. If you can’t shop for a child, mail a contribution, large or small, to
