There were 100 total signed up, at last count, for Saturday’s 5K Resolution Run/Walk, sponsored by PowerSouth’s Relay for Life team, but there’s still time.
As part of its fundraising efforts for the 2012 Covington County Relay for Life, cooperative employees are sponsoring a race that will begin and end at Andalusia City Hall.
“It’s going a lot better than we thought,” said organizer Micheal Davis. “Just to add to the fact that, there are a lot more people than we thought, I am really excited. We want to make sure we put on a good race, and make sure that we make it a good Relay for Life fundraiser. It’s helping us meet our goal there.”
The road course will travel through several Andalusia neighborhoods near Andalusia High School.
“I think participants will be very pleased with the route selected for the race,” Davis said. “There are a few moderately steep hill along the course, but runners and walkers of all skill levels are welcome.”
Those interested in participating, but who haven’t signed up can do so up until 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Registration will be held at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
Cost is $25 for those 13 and older and $20 for those 12 and younger.
