The families of Sheryl Betts and Sidney McKathan are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Annelle and Michael Betts of Andalusia. She is the granddaughter of Janice and Ernie Nobles of Cross Creek, Fla., and the late Florrie and Bruce Nix of Albany, Ga.

She is a 2008 graduate of Pleasant Home High School and is currently pursuing a degree in biomedical sciences at Auburn University.

The prospective groom is the son of Judge Ashley McKathan and Rae McKathan and the late Susan McKathan of Andalusia. He is the grandson of Lorene McKathan and the late Garnel McKathan and Bobby Messick and the late Susan Messick, all of Andalusia.

He is a 2008 graduate of Pleasant Home High School and is currently employed at Andalusia Manor.

The couple will wed on May 26, 2012, and invitations will be sent.
