Flowers – the tried and true traditional Valentine’s Day gift. On Monday, staff at Alan Cotton’s Florist were making headway on orders for their busiest business day of the year. Here, Cotton puts the finishing touches on an arrangement of two-dozen roses.

“Granted, flowers are perishable, but the first impression, the thought and the love behind them is most certainly not,” he said.
